David Burton and Mark Johnston
David Burton (CEO of Burtons Group) agrees to be the recipient of any equipment that UK practices are able to donate to support the needs of Ukrainian veterinary practices.
The two factors resulting in shortage of equipment in Ukrainian practices are secondment of many items of equipment to equip field hospitals providing care to frontline military personnel; in addition, practices being damaged or destroyed by incoming drones or missiles are very much in need of replacement equipment to enable them to provide veterinary care to their patients. As a result, many Ukrainian veterinary practices have found themselves depleted of core equipment items, and so are not able to provide the veterinary care to their patients.
Mark Johnston (Vice-President of the Prosalus Foundation) is working with the Ukrainian Small Animal Veterinary Association (USAVA) to help resupply practices with what they need. The list of the equipment that is needed is shown in the attached file.
Mark Johnston said: “We have been advised that UK practices may have surplus equipment or still have items that have been upgraded but not yet recycled. We are co-ordinating with the USAVA to identify the needs of Ukrainian practices and ask practices to see if they might have such items that they would like to be donated to our colleagues in Ukraine.
“David Burton has not only volunteered the Burtons premises in Maidstone to be the recipient of any equipment, but they will also service any items that might benefit from some technical attention. We are very grateful to Burtons for their support of this campaign.”
Please do review the attached list and consider what might be in the practice and not being used -any equipment, consumables or medication. Send to Burtons as below:
